Collecting pop tabs and returning cans is a great way for us to show our community support. We donate the pop tabs to the Ronald McDonald House and use the money from returning the cans to help us improve our robot and help fund our competitions as well as support other local charities!!

​We are always willing to collect your cans! Just email us at [email protected] with a time and date and we will send one of our families out to collect them.
Supporting the local food pantries is an yearly, ongoing effort for the Girl Botz. We are creating a community where no one is left behind, where food insecurity and allergy concerns are met with care and compassion, and where each contribution, no matter how small, has the power to create lasting change. This is more than just a donation; it is a movement of hope, solidarity, and shared responsibility.

We make hand crafted cards just in time for the holidays!!
Maintaining the Larson Little Library is a high priority for the GIrl Botz team. Each girl takes a turn cleaning it up; straightening the books, pencils and paper, and gifting bookmarks throughout the book selection!

We encourage any young person to read, read, read and explore their imagination!! Stop by the Little Library and you may find a bookmark left by the Girl Botz!!

The team had an exciting time at the Troy Public Library Summer Reading Kick-Off. Our table was very popular with the kiddos. We gave away stem marshmellow kits, coloring pages, and prizes. The team also showcased our 1.1 robot while finishing touches were being made on our 2.2!!

The Girl Botz had the honor of helping to feed a part of the homeless community in Pontiac over the weekend!!  The team, through your pop can donations, supplied lasagna, corn, brownies, and flavored waters to a women and children's shelter.

The Girl Botz were invited to Troy Union Elementary by the Girl Scout troop 78162 to teach them all about robots!!

We had a great time teaching the specifics of our robot, showcasing our robot, having the girls make their own robot with a purpose, and finally driving the robot. Way to go girls!!
We had an amazing time returning to Paaralang Pilipino for the 2nd year! From robot demos and hands-on STEM fun to books, culture, and community—this day was all about inspiring young minds ✨

The Girl Botz got together with a local charity, The Bottomless Toychest for our annual gift wrapping. All the toys that are handled through this charity are delivered to children facing cancer. We love supporting such an amazing charity!!

The Girl Botz students, mentors, and junior ambassadors took part in the various service projects at the MLK Jr. Celebration at Athens High School today January 19, 2026 . Girl Botz students made no sew tie blankets, assembled children’s activity packs, made HOPE bracelet kits and hand made cards etc.
The Girl Botz got together and brought holiday cheer to the residents of Royal Oak Manor for the second annual Musical Showcase.  The Girl Botz team members, youth mentors, and junior ambassadors all played their instruments, sang and even told jokes. We are especially grateful to all the residents that came out to enjoy the music and food that the Girl Botz shared.

We hosted a women in STEM-themed raffle and giveaways, including gear Wall-E robots ( one of  the teams named their robot Wall -E) , star wars squish mallows,gear earrings featuring our team’s logo, buildable robot kits, dental kits (courtesy of one of our amazing sponsors), safety kits, marshmallow STEM kits, pin buttons, stress-relief kits, pink headbands, pink safety glasses, kindness rocks, phone pockets (courtesy of our team sponsors), office-supply kits, and school supplies like pink highlighters—also generously provided by our sponsors.

Thank you for allowing us to host our water station at the event. We supplied 560 water bottles, and the entire Roc Bots United Tournament crowd—students, parents, guests, and volunteers—were very appreciative of our hydration efforts. Many fellow students thanked us repeatedly for this thoughtful and healthy contribution. It was an extremely busy day, and having water readily available on-site was a refreshing relief that helped prevent dehydration.

We also wanted to share a very touching story. A mom and her daughter came to our booth and told us it was the “greatest random act of kindness.” The daughter had a headache, and they were looking for water so she could take pain relief medication. When they turned the corner and saw the Girl Botz team’s hydration station, they were so grateful and relieved.Just wanted to share this meaningful moment from the Roc Bots event.

Hosted 9 FCC Robotics teams  at Larson Middle School
Big thanks to Larson Middle School, Costello and Hill Elementary PTO for having FTC 22918 Girl Botz at Track or Treat and Trunk or Treat events this season! 
In between our robot building and coding sessions, our all-girl robotics team FTC 22918 Girl Botz gathered Halloween costumes to support the Hill Elementary Halloween Service Project!
Girl Botz FTC 22918 led 25 students from 8 Troy schools to support the Humane Society of Macomb!
They made 💡 handmade pet toys, donated 🛏️ towels & 🐕 supplies, and raised 💵 $135 through the Shelter Love Initiative.

Today, they invited five friends to join them in wrapping toys for this amazing cause—bringing joy and hope to pediatric oncology patients, one wrapped toy at a time.

We had an absolutely amazing time at the Girl Botz FTC 22918 booth today during General Motors' 2025 Bring Your Kid to Work Day! The energy was incredible as so many attendees—both kids and adults—connected with our team and truly felt the empowering spirit of Girl Botz in action.

Our all-girls robotics team, Girl Botz, also had the incredible opportunity to tour parts of the General Motors campus. From exploring cutting-edge automotive technology to participating in hands-on, interactive stations, our students experienced engineering and innovation firsthand. It was engaging, eye-opening, and deeply inspiring.

We walked away from the event inspired, energized, and full of new knowledge—and we definitely had a blast!
Let’s honor our planet by taking action—because every small step matters. One of Girl Botz FTC 22918 team favorite eco-friendly activities is replanting aloe vera and sharing them with the community.

We got out into the community today and teamed up with Donate Life for one of our service projects .Huge shoutout to our amazing Girl Botz alumni-turned-youth mentor, Emmy, and our tiniest (but mightiest!) ambassador, Clara, for showing up and showing out.

FRC Competition Volunteering
This was a fun experience for me and my team. I had fun with my friends and looking at the stalls the FRC teams had put up. The FRC teams inspired me to do robotics when I am older. I also enjoyed seeing there team robots and competitions. We all got inspired from there hard work. Whenever I go to do outreach I always remember that there is something to learn and something to teach. Sometimes we are learning something but sometimes we are teaching our community. We all hope to make our own marks in our community. 
 Girl Botz also participated in the OCCRA Oakland County Competitive Robotics Association at Berkshire Middle School in October. Other qualifier tournaments are also coming up in November and December 2023.
